Helping to inform and inspire young people
Sahra developed the students practical model making skills further with a technical workshop. Young people worked with control and accuracy to step by step create a simple structure. The simplicity of the model forced us to be really precise!
This accurate way of working will be used later in the week when building our own design models, when things start to serious!
As well as making and crafting we spent time in a 'group critique'. This is something Suaad and Sahra explained was a vital part of how they developed ideas and confidence at Architecture School. The time and space to explain and articulate your ideas to others helps to shape projects. It also encourages you to realise that people may have very differnt ideas from you. You may need to re-think ideas, adapt and change them. Communicating clearly so that others understand what is in you head is pretty hard sometimes!
