Helping to inform and inspire young people
Central Careers Hub delivered a really informative CPD session, entitled Cracking the Tech Careers Code, to teachers involved in the Creative and Digital Careers project.
Catherine O'Mahony, a careers adviser, worked with Central Careers Hub and employers to produce a detailed report on the tech careers sector. Their aim was to demystify the sector and use a simple model to help careers advisers and teachers to understand the jargon. The model, called VOTS (Verticals, Occupations, Technologies, Skills), helps explain roles and industries, along with routes into them.
The presentation was full of interesting stats - highlighting how quickly the tech industry is growing.
